Lucerne

Lucerne is less spread crop in Samtskhe-Javakheti region. Rural Advisory Service has started arrangement of demonstration plots in the villages Anda, Nakalakevi, Pia, sadzeli, Pamaji, Ude and Zanavi in order to promote the crop. In 2008 the farmers from the mentioned villages grew the Lucerne and the yield of the crop was 7-8 tons per ha. Lucerne gives three yields in our region, 5 in Kakheti and it supports to raise the weight and milk production of the cattle.
