The input supply shop ‘Farmer' opened doors on 6 February 2008. By providing farmers with quality farm inputs and equipment the shop aims to increase the quality and volume of farmers' production, raise their income and improve rural livelihoods.
The shop offers over 500 products including veterinary treatments, chemical farm inputs, large and small farm tools. It is best known for offering high quality seed, fertilizers and fungicides. It is also the only shop in the region where farmers can buy milking machines. The inputs and equipment offered in the Farmer shop are often presented at demonstrations as part of the RAS extension service, and many farmers become regular customers only after having seen the use of certain materials at demo farms. Around 50 customers are served on a daily basis and professional consultations are provided in the shop.
