RAS provides consultancy services on agricultural and legal issues.
Over 3,100 individual consultations were provided in various agriculture issues between February 2007 and December 2008. RAS agricultural specialists are usually approached for advice in the RAS office, the Farmer shop, during random meetings on the streets and during ‘joint visits'. ‘Joint visits' have been undertaken by the combined team of a RAS agricultural mobiliser, community mobiliser and a lawyer to a village, aimed at providing information and answering questions on a variety of issues. Between 20 and 30 joint visits were organised in 2008, and they provided farmers with an excellent opportunity to use the varied expertise of RAS specialists.
